Difficult part for an Alternator?
About to restore an Alternator(1100704) and missing a very inmportant part.The name is: FIBER INSULATOR.Sitting close to the Condensor Cable.According to Delco-Remy the part# is:41011.
Please,anybody out there have any info about this tricky part? 1100704 37Ah 1969 |

Hi Peje. The insulator number you gave (usually Plastic) is used to insulate the screw holding the condenser lead against the positive rectifier plate. There is also an insulator (usually fiber and also often lost) used to insulate the positive rectifier plate from the alternator case. The positive rectifier plate is inbetween these insulators with the condenser lead under the insulator you mentioned, then the insulator and then the screw on top going thru. So looking from the inside it is the screw, then the insulator you mentioned, then the condensor lead then the rectifier plate then the other flat insulator then the case.
