I think it is marginal. I had 1/4'' between my tire and shock and it would rub lightly every now and then when hard cornering.

Well- now new rear rims are needed with less offset --- This "simple" project is turning into a nightmare.

Run it for awhile and see if there is any rubbing.

If your talking about a drag slick it wont rub durring a quarter mile pass, but will probably rub when making a turn since the sidewalls distort so much. On a regular radial I would think your ok. Just check them after some hard cornering.

How about using small wheel spacers.

actually its kinda close for a street application too. I had a '50 pontiac with a ford 9 inch rear that was narrowed. The clearance was about a half inch and it rubed under normal driving conditions, Tore up the sidewall. never leaked or blew but it rubbed and ruind several tires

These are drag radials, that is spaced out. Had serious conflict with the leaf spring before spacer. Doing to math now to figure out for future purchase what rim/backspace to buy.

Cornering with my car is an oxymoron, goes straight well, thats it.

Especially when a 1/2" doubles the size.

These are 295's? 5.5'' BS? I would have thought with all the rearend work and relocation things would fit pretty well. Does not sound good for me fitting 325's, although i like mine jacked up abit which would help.

I beleive there is pleanty of space for a 315, uncertain about 325. The thing to do is:

Choose the rim tire combo you want to run and then narrow the rear to that. I am now in a position where I am looking at all different rim mfrs to see if they make a rim close to what I need to run.

Personally I like all the tire under the car.
