Going to build a 400" block with an Eagle stroker kit and 72cc Edelbrock heads. The question is what block to use, i have a 1968 GTO 400" block with the chamfers on both sides of the cylinders for the intake and exhaust valves. I have several early 70's 400" blocks with no chamfers on the cylinders. Will i gain anything by using the 68 block with the chamfers?

Yes. But the other blocks can be chamfered too. Just use a head gasket for a template.
