I'm curious of an alternative to Just Dashes also instead of using a dash cap as well as other options in having the chrome re-done on my original dash bezel. The thing is in excellent shape outside of the chrome being worn off. No crack, cuts, the aluminum swirl at the bottom is perfect and I hate to even have to replace that. Only alternatives I know to date is either buy a repo bezel for $350 or send mine out to have it done for $300 plus. Is there any other options??

Default Dash Restoration

Just did this. In 1993 I used Just Dashes for my 1972 GTO. Still perfect today. Needed a new dash for my 1972 Pontiac LeMans Station Wagon. Got pricing from all 3 players in the market: Just Dashes, Dash Specialists and Dashboard Restorations USA. In the end after weighing all the options (cost, timing), I went with Dashboard Restorations USA, looks great and they exactly met the deadline/cost quoted. All in I have just under $ 1000.00 in the entire pad (restoration purchase, shipping in 3 directions and initial purchase). If you're going to play you have got to pay, no phoney plastic caps for me.

Depending upon the severity of your dash, try looking into an outfit called Dr. Vinyl. I had some dash damage from an attempted stereo theft in the early 90's. They came out and fixed it up...had some cracks and indentions in it from prying on the bezel. Looks great to this day, think it cost me less than 100 bucks back then.

Default I used them

I used them 8 years ago for a Mercury dash (73 cougar)and the pad is still in EXCELLENT condition. The only issue is if the passenger seat is let forward there is a slight detent for a few minutes. I would use them again, and plan to for a 68 ford XL and my 70 lemans if an aftermarket is not available at the time.

The $195 core charge seems a little steep considering they only give $65 when they buy them outright from you.

It will be interesting to see this product upclose. Take some good pics Ghartley.

I agree with you steve far as the over stuffed looked. I can always pick out a "Just Dashes" dash at a car show. While they look damn good, they are not as "crisp" as an original. The edges are too rounded.

"Overstuffed" - yep. I had that issue after sending mine to Just Dashes. Had a helluva time getting the bezel to fit right and to get the glovebox door lined up without rubbing. The A/C vents went OK though. I did have to fight a little, but I figured that was par for the course since my dash was toast in those spots.

I used Just Dashes for my Can Am and it looks great.. out of 1-10 i give them a 10... I sent my dash for my 71 GT-37 to Dash Specialists and i would give them an 8 .. there was a small blemish or shinny spot on the drivers side where the window post meets the dash. It should be hidden by the A piller...

I forgot to about the price difference... Just Dashes wanted $1,400 to refinish my 71 GT-37 dash..Dash Specialists charged me $750...
