Supcarbob, I was wondering if you had seen this photo of the early stripe option in Paul Zazarine's GTO Buyers Guide. Sweet cars you have!

I had a set of those on my 70 Lemans Sport.
The red/white/black, really looked sharp against
the Baja Gold!

I'm in for a set of red/white. I spoke with Dan Jensen a few years ago and he indicated he would be willing to use his car as a pattern, but it looks like there are other options now. We should move on this!

BTW, what ever happened to the 455HO registry that Dan was working on? I sent my info to him years ago and have heard nothing since.

He said other things had come up and were taking up most of his time. He had not received any information after the second time he put out the information. Last info I had from him was 1/12/95. Have talked with him several times since then but he just did not have the time to do much more with it. He is a member here so if you are not part of it yet send him an e-mail with what you have. Be prepared to back it up with documentation of some kind.

FYI, to all that do not know what we are talking about. It was a '71-'72 455HO registry for all non GTO A bodies. Luxury LeMans, LeMans Sport, LeMans GT, LeMans, GT-37, T-37.

At that time there were 15 of the 137 '71's documented and 18 of the 102 '72's. If you want to know if it is in the registry just e-mail him or send me the serial number and will check it against the list.

He has a copy of my build sheet. I sent it to him in 99 or 2000. I was interested in how many showed up, total.

I wrote a response in the "Lobby" thread about this:

"And I'm forwarding this thread to my buddy who makes repro stripes. He's been doing the Sprint and HO stripes for 66-69 A-bodies and 67-68 Firebirds for more than 15 years. Veteran Pontiac collector, but hasn't been able to make time to sign on here at PY forums."

Gary wrote back:

"Id be glad to do it.
I will need something for patterns.
I may have a piece of NOS in the vast collection
of NOS stripes that Ive collected over the years.
But I will need other pieces and or a ruboff."

He found a PN 483992 71 Pontiac quarter panel side right hand; it's black and red non-reflective.

He will give me some contact info soon.

Gary started the registration process to get in the forums, but as you know, Ccass does final approvals. Meantime, I had told Gary that Roger might be a good start, so I sent OPH's email addy to Gary. PS Gary lives on the OHC cammer forums... He and I share that Sprint addiction!

Hey Craig,
Gary(the reproduction stripe guy) is now on the
board's, and he said if he can get the NOS stripe
pieces that you have, he can start on the project
immediately.
He(Gary) posted in the Lobby in the "Attention
owner's of 1971 GTO,GT-37,T-37) topic.

Thanks to everyone who showed interest in this
project!

How much would a set cost?

I made a trace/patern of mine before I took them off if this would help.
