Here are the guides I had made for the exhaust side of your DCI RA 5 turbo heads Ed. These are made of 4140 steel and I am going to install a bronze liner. I had the guides made with a little step or retainer at the bottom to trap the liner in case it should come loose. It's not really visible in the pic's. The bronze guide is what I normally install in my heads and is what I will install on the intake side for your heads. The car is looking AWESOME!!!!

I don't have a lot of pic's of Ed's heads right now, but here are a few. I am starting to build his headers hopefully next week and I will post pic's of them as we progress.

Header Location has been determined. Its looking Sweet.

Is anyone else thinking a good nickname for this "69 Bird" would be "RAVEN" because in the Wild it attacks "THE CROW."

That's a lot to bite off right there.

I'm a novice on all this stuff, but any concerns with the front plate acting as a big heat sink with the exhaust running that close around it since it will be street driven?

Alright, let’s get the car and upgraded engine finished and down the track a few times before making any wild claims. We all know how these threads turn out when individuals get a little too over confident before any actual track time.

I assume that they made the header collectors fit tight to the front plate to help with the turbo exhaust fabrication. Easy enough later to open up the 'pass-thru' holes to .250" larger vs the collector at that spot (to take care of vibration and heat expansion changes) and also add cooling slots to the plate to get some airflow behind the plate for street driving.

It will be a "iterative process". Interative Design is an approach of incrementally developing and refining a design based learning over time.

Well said Ed !!!! I don't want anything to do with anyone pounding their chest especially before we have any data to back it up. This combo has the potential to lay down some impressive numbers when all sorted out, but it is going to take some time. I know Ed and his team are going to do whatever it takes to get it done, but I also know he has a long hard road in front of him. Turbo cars by far have the advantage when it comes to making big HP and Ed is doing it right. Although he has had a couple of bumps in the road already. I talked with Ed's chassis guy and he is no back yard builder. So I'm confident he knows that the headers passing through the front plate will need clearanced. He just made the holes in the plate to locate the collectors where he wants them end up for everything to fit properly. We are building the headers and he doesn't want to have any fitment problems when he does the final assembly. Ed's already been down that road !!!!
