Could be but for Hillclimbs etc. a little back pressure could help .

I think old school standards would say yes but I dont think I have seen anyone/supplier really build an "equation" for a X-Pipe system which shows both pipes to each bank at some point (most just show one graph). I have a custom stainless system that we put the x pipe as close to the collectors as we could. Hindsight I might have gone 3inch to the xpipe then 2.5 inches.

I think the numbers are pretty good, certaintly on the high side of what Dave and I originally discussed so I am thinking (hoping) I didnt leave much on the table.

When I first drove my new combo which is similar to yours I had a 2 1/2 inch x pipe on it.Then I switched to a 3 inch x pipe through my same 2 1/2 inch ultraflos and tailpipes and it felt stronger. Just the pipe volume is a huge difference when you compare them side by side.

Pontiac large cid engines respond well to a 3" "H" or "X" pipe system over 2.5". For the most part, it really doesn't seem to matter what's after the mufflers. I've never done any back to back dragstrip testing, just too difficult to mess with that sort of stuff at the track. I do know that my car's track performance improved significantly after upgrading, but difficult to say exactly how much, as I made several other changes around the same time......Cliff
