Front suspension bushings
What type and brand of control arm bushings is everyone using? I put the poly graphite in my ‘71 and they have been good so far.

The best I have seen that can improve ride as well as handling ( because it allows the suspension to work much faster) is the Global west del-a-Lum bearings. they can be ordered for stock control arms. I bead blast them and paint them black. If you ANY urge to run a short sidewall tire, this can get your car closer to the speed of a strut, which is what those short side wall tires were ONLY made for, cars WITH struts. I read about those years ago. I know they aren't cheap. Trying to see what most people use.

i used the polygraphite on one of my cars & they work great, but after a few years they started to sqeak. the graphite in them doesnt do much once the grease dries up or gets worked out. if its a street car & not auto crossed or driven hard the factory rubber types are great & have a softer ride quality. i use moog for my other cars.

For my lowers I used polyurethane (UMI), and for uppers I used delrin (UMI). On the coil overs (Viking) I used bearing ends. Made the choice based on several discussions with the manufacturer’s tech line. Have one summer on them now, and very happy.

I picked up their A225-550R- 550lb front spring rate set, for a 1976 Trans Am. For settings, I started with the recommended ride quality for street at 4 compression and 4 rebound. Ride was good but when I rolled through dips in the road, I experienced some rubbing of the uppermost inner fender bolts on the front. I shaved the bolts and pretty well solved the problem but not totally. I continued adjusting and all is really good now at 8 for each of compression and rebound. I did not notice that much of a harshness difference between the starting adjustment and where I am now. The ride is awesome regarding handling, especially on corners. It is way stiffer than my OEM suspension was, but no stiffer than some of the modern sports cars with suspension from factory designed for handling. As was expected. My fronts are 245 45 18 on 18 x 8-inch wheels with 4.5-inch backspacing.
