Default Qa1 pro coil system up front but....

The real problem is getting the 30" Mickey Thompson Drag Radials tucked in the wheel wells. (stock wells) I just want 2.5" over the tires.

All HR PARTS & STUFF in the rear. I tried 1' and 2" drop spring but still to much rake.

Without breaking the bank. Options?

Does anyone make a 3" drop coil?: eek:

Thanks Hooter. Nice to work on the car again. Im on a budget but making some progress.

I located some 3' drop springs for the rear. Not sure if I should blow $100 to try them out.

What ya think? Only shooting for low 11's

I ordered a stock rate 3" drop for the back of my 72 from Original Parts Group i believe. I had to have a custom shock made by afco with a shorter body to keep it from bottoming out and there is still not much room for travel. I had to cut the foam stops in half at the bottom of the shock to allow for slight travel. ( not shown in pictures ) Im not sure if it will be enough or not, but afco said that is the shortest 5" stroke shock body they have. My tire is only a 275/60 as well.
I hope this helps... I look forward to watching the progress

Are you trying to get the ride height right with the car as it's shown in the pics? You're going to add a lot of weight to the car when it's put back together.

Adam,

Thanks for the info. Not sure I'm ready to deal with custom shocks or the limited compession. Also, my tires are 295's 30" dia. 3" drop might be tight. Love the low stance of your car though.

Firechicknman,

I'm very much aware of the weight that is not on the car as shown. However, my concern is the 4" difference in the tire dia. 30" rear 26" front. Starting to think the 275"s were a better choice.

GTO Dan,

Are your tires 275"s

Thanks all I appreciate the help.

I went to the 26" from the 28" on the front of the blue car last year. It had 29.5 et drags on it, and i think actually looked better with the smaller tires on the front IMHO
28"

26"

That car had ladder bars and coil overs. The best part was though that it shows how nice that big tire can tuck in without having to notch the rails or add width to the stock wheel wells. All that was done for clearance was the lip on the 1/4 panel ( they where fiberglass 1/4s ). The blue car was built by py member Rich Heidlauf.
