I am currently using 275/60/15 BFG DRs on the rear of my car. I would have purchased Nittos 275/60/15s but they were not available when I bought my BFGs last year (just 275/50/15s) Yesterday I went to the Nitto web site and saw that they now list a 275/60/15. I would like to buy a set when my BFGs are worn out, which will be soon, perhaps a couple of months, depending on how/how much I drive.

Where can I get the best price on Nitto Drag Radials? Discount Tires Direct sells Nittos but they told me the 275/60/15s are not available yet.

Most people who have tried both, seem to favor the Nitto DRs over the BFG DRs. I would like to hear comments from people who have tried both.

Thanks, Joel

I have not tried both, but do run NITTO's 315/35R17 on my Corvette. They stick very nicely when warm. On my GSC's, I would spin the tires up until I shifted into 3rd gear around 70 mph. So far the tires seem to be wearing good and even cold they stick 10 times better than the GSC's. I bought mine through Discount Tire Direct. Even after shipping, I could not find someone locally or anywhere else online that had as good of a price.

The local F-body & mustang racers around here say the BFG's are better at the track but the Nittos are better in weather and normal driving.
These are 12.0 to 13.0 street/strip cars...

Thanks for the replies. I should have mentioned that I am looking for a street tire. I won't be running at the strip. I'm looking for the best combination of traction, handling and tread wear.

Joel'
I'd look at some of the autocross compound tires then. BFG used to make an autocross and SCCA roadrace compound(roadrace slightly harder and needs a litle more warm up than the autocross compound). You could get them shaved 1/2 tread depth for better handling(tread block squirm). Yokohama also had some specific as well as Hoosier.

They all have a heavier sidewall for handling than the drag radial type. Ran high 12 before with them.

I was worried about handling when I put the Nitto's on my Corvette. The tiny difference in handling feel is more than compensated for by the extra traction. That includes curves--both high and low speed. Actually the only difference I can tell is on the highway the NITTO's have a little tendancy to follow the grooves in the road more.
