I found the wire I was looking for. The tach light harness plugs into the clock harness.

It has been talked about on here before, but I can confirm that my TI tach doesn't work with points. Any one got a points tach? Maybe a slight trade for the TI tach?

I saw a article on a 64 GP in Hemmings Classic car magazine a few months back. This car had the vacuum gauge installed in the dash like all above photos. My recollection is Pontiac never did this? Anyone know for sure? Also, anyone know if a 63/64 Catalina without a console could be ordered with a vacuum gauge?
Thanks in advance. |

That was quite a article Hemmings Classic Car put out. The A/C compressor and brackets was Pontiac, so what I think happened was the car had a dealer install A/C and they removed the upper portion of the console to add the add on ducting and switches. The car has the correct rocker molding, however the rocker molding front fender extension, which G/P and Catalina do not have has the Bonneville ribbed type. The article also talks about the 389 and then says only the 421 engines used solid lifters! By 1964 the SD program was all over, no solids after 1963 to my knowledge! I think there are probably better examples of 64 G/P's out there that they could have used. They also really need a Pontiac person to proof read their articles. |

I see this thread came up again. What cup and adapter did you use to mount the tach on your 61? Was it the stock 63-64 parts. Still want to mount a tach on my 62 and haven't pulled the trigger yet.
