You're now running withe BIG dawgs. 9.99 - 7.50 and 7.49 - 6.00. The need for speed, has just sent us to the NHRA chassis certification inspection line. Start by calling your local track and make an appointment.. You can also go to A divisional or a National open event. No appointments. Call Div. office and ask when the best time to show up, or' you may wait all day.... For local cert. show up 1/2 hour ahead of time. This will give you time to bring the car out of the trailer. They will also cert. rolling chassis's or chassis straped to the trailer. Attention here is paid to the drivers compartment integrity. They will also od. sample tubes for proper dia. and a sonic test for wall thickness. They will check at a bends for proper wall thickness. As well as the straight tubes. Special attention is paid to all welds for proper Mig or Tig application. The certification must be renewed every 3 yrs. This is called a 9.99 certification. 7.49 - 6.00, This is the called the Advanced ET cert. The AEC, does require a couple of extra tubes. You will also need to update your lic. to Adv.ET. Too many particulars to meet ccass time limit for posts So Eme or post. Off to the races this weekend, will reply this evening. and tomorrow eve. ...Safety 1st...

There is no chassis cert required for 10.0 to 11.99? Or just the installation of a rollbar and cage of the proper number of "points."???

9.99 or over 135mph needs certified cage. Yes the standard 5 point rollbar is good till 10.00 unless you break the 135 mark. The sandwich method of installing rollbar is good to 10.00 and is the only way to mount bar on uni-body. Do not attempt to weld to those C-channel frames. NHRA does not consider that a full frame unless it has been boxed. Subframe connectors do not make it a full frame. E me on the sandwich method or more info...Safety 1st....

LOL. Actually, that is where the old owner had the car in upper state NY. With as much $ as this thing is going to run me, I may just have to move in with the car!

I have no idea how I'll fit, but in anticipation, I've already dropped 15lbs.........

So does this mean you can't give Rashy and others cr*p about narrowed rear subframes and lighter weight?

If they will still insist that its not easier to go faster with those mods done, then the "monkey bar car" rule will certainly be heard throughout the land......

I am still a great fan of all steel cars and always will be. I just can't afford to make one as fast as I want to go.
