Has anybody used a Torker II intake w/ a Q-Jet? I know it is a square flange (Holley) but I was thinking w/ a 1" Spacer and a little grinding...

Something like this:

I have seen a 1" aluminum spacer/adaptor, has square bore on one side and (spreadbore)Quadrajet on the other!

The T-II intake was not designed for spread bore carbs, they left minimal material at the flange for modifications. Last summer we dyno'd a 455 at KRE and were using a T-II intake. Just for kicks I installed a q-jet on one of those el-cheapo adapters. Despite the restriction it made very close numbers to the 850 Demon carb used on the previous pull. Nearly as I can remember it was only down about 10 hp/10 ft lbs. On a taller adapter with less angle to the square opening I'd expect even less power loss......Cliff

...my favorite combo is Q-Jet on torker I, on a 455 crank.

Anything else: Dual carbs.
