Default 1969 GTO-how rare is "Champagne" color #63?

I just left a down payment on a 69 GTO coupe that I liked to serve as a "sister" to my 69 vert' and it not a RA or HO or appointed very boldly- it is a hideaway, AC auto car in Champagne with black buckets. So I was wondering since I have never seen another in that color in person, what the members think about the rarity of that color. There is apparently a Champagne Judge on the Ultimate GTO Picture Site, and that is pretty cool.

Comments or thoughts? Anyone have pics of one or own one?

unusal, not rare...i had a champgne 69 GTO ram air III 4 speed, hood tach, covered headlights...unusal car...somone wanted a judge..maybe the color wasnt avail ..anyway, the car was black when i got it.

like i said unusal not rare, ive seen many lemans and tempest that color, when the paint gets old and ugly it looks like silver...i wouldnt buy a car because it was a rare unpopular color....now golden rod yellow..yeah, id buy one just because of that...lol

I had a champagne 69 Ram IV 4spd convertible a few years ago. It was blue when I owned it. It actually is a cool color when its Base/cleared.

That isn't the reason I am buying it, I like the car and it is solid, affordable, matching numbers and I love that color. I just wondered how uncommon it was. My 69 vert is Expresso Brown (under the red), My 68 HO 400 Bird is Mayfaire Maize, so I don't normally buy for the color option! I wish I could find a RA car but not for my budget!

I dont see many in person. I parted a 69 LeMans a few years ago that was champange.
My 69 GTO is antique gold and I dont see many of those either. I was at the Dual convention in Ohio a few years ago and did not see one antique gold.
A few years ago I soda blasted a 69 for a guy who bought his car off E-bay. It was red and when I started blasting it was origionally golden rod yellow. That is a special order pay extra color and very rare. He still repainted it red!

I have a 1969 Buick GS 400 Convertible that was originally painted Champagne Gold.

Basically a Light Metallic Gold.

The above Buick GS is for sale

I would venture to guess Champaign is one of the rarer '69 colors for GTOs.

In my PHS's Champagne is running 1% of non Judge production (about 4 out of 400). That makes it the rarest non special order color.

I own a Champagne 69 Ram Air IV 4spd with a parchment vinyl top and still retaining its original WW block. Looks just like the one 69 GTO that Ertl put out a few years ago. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ertl-1-18-19...item2c544b0b67

Back in the early 90's I went to look at a one owner '69 GTO 4-speed car for sale. That was the only one I recall seeing in person over the years. I've seen a few '69 GP's that color.

Yeah I have seen lots of GP's that color but only one A body ever in person (it was a LeMans. It's a pretty color when accented by a black top and interior.

At this time the Ram air IV car is a wantabe Judge .It is painted Carousel Red and has Judge decals .It is the same way it was when it was pulled out of the previous owners barn in 1997 . It is presently in a storage container. I should have said it will look like the Ertl model when it is restored. I have a few other projects on the go at the moment , a 65 tripower GTO 74 SD Trans Am and a 69 400 Firebird . I don"t know when I will get to this one . Trishieldchief I am planning another Ontario trip in October and will try to stop by and visit this time . And if possible get a look at your brothers car .
