hood tach
I have a 70 GTO
is there a different redline for the ram air IV hood tach as opposed to the ram air III or base engine Thanks |

Nope....5100 rpm redline.

yes...
but there are higher redline tachs for sprint 6s early...i think 67 and 68...not sure on 68 pretty sure 67 its a 5500 or 6k redline or somewhere in that area...and everyone stumbles onto them and think they found something special when in fact..its a 6 cylinder tach...thinking back...ive seen some 6k reds on firebirds sprints...cant remember one ever being on a lemans sprint,,,but i dont follow those cars very much..just so hard to find anymore...

I always thought the RAIV tachs had a 5500 redline.

HJones1313, There was some early speculation that RAII cars equipped with hood tachs were the 5500 rpm redline faces from the OHC Sprints, but that ended up as just that, speculation. PMD didn't want more warranty work replacing blown RAIV's than they already had, especially with higher redline tachs.
