Default Need this TH400 Part

I need the spring shown in the photo below ... PN 926. The spring that goes under the 1-2 accumulator piston in the valve body.

Can't seem to find it anywhere. All I find is the more common 1-2 servo spring that goes in trans case.

Thanks.

I would stop by a local transmission shop and ask. I doubt you will find it by itself

no, you don't need it, or want it. Put that piston in upside down and clip it. You will be glad ya did.

Glad I have one of these springs coming from a forum member ... just stopped by a trans shop to ask about flushing my converter, asked about the spring while I was there ... guy had a whole wall of new and used parts ... not a single one of these springs.

Does there exist a parts diagram with part numbers for a TH400?

Thousands of years ago, GM printed "Quickreq" (Quick Requisition) pamphlets for each transmission model.

Every part was listed, along with a check-box and an exploded diagram. The tech would tear the trans down, check all the boxes for the parts he wanted, and hand the pamphlet to the parts counterman.

I'm guessing the generic trans tech manuals don't have part numbers. Although I think GM did put out various tech manuals ... but typically they don't include part numbers in their manuals.

Seems unusual ... they only made about a trillion TH400s, you'd think the part numbers and parts would be readily available.
