Default snubbed GM again.... bought my 2nd Dodge

Yes, I hold a grudge for dropping Pontiac. After trading the ‘10 Malibu in on a ‘12 Charger two years ago we have out grown it. We did really like the Charger though. We love this new ‘14 Durango. Maximum Steel with the Rallye appearance package. The 8 speed auto works surprisingly well. On a side note, I wish Dodge would build a Dakota pickup, I found a rendering of one and posted below. Doesn’t sound like its going to happen though. None of the full size offerings really have a wow factor to me.

Dakota

The bed on that rendering looks like it's about 3 feet long...doesn't seem very useful.

X2 - Looks more like a rumble seat than a bed.

Exactly. Definitely not a full size truck bed, more like a ridgeline or explorer sportrac but looks like a durango. Great for what i use my truck for most of the time like firewood recently, brush and tree trimmings when i do yard work, gas can, car parts, bulky items from a box store. Basically stuff i would not or could not put in a car trunk or behind the third row of the durango. That sort of thing is needed all the time.

Quicksilver,
I totally agree with you. My classics are a 67 GTO conv, 69 Caprice Coupe, and 87 Monte Carlo SS. Daily drivers are an 06 Mustang GT, 03 Ram 1500, and 09 Challenger...daughter drives a 2012 Fiat 500 conv.....I have no plans to buy anything new from GM, but do plan to keep the old ones a long time!

I will never purchase a new GM car again. Purchased a Ram 1500 hemi and really like it.

I just traded my Pontiac Torrent for a new Hyundai Santa Fe. I looked at the Equinox but after what GM did to Pontiac i said "to heck with GM". I do miss the Pioneer sound system in the Pontiac. We have the Durango's at Enterprise and i like the way they drive and the touchscreen radio are the best for satellite radio.

The last new GM I bought was in 85. The durango looks nice.

gm dropped "PONTIAC" when they built the last Pontiac engine. it was just a badge after that. I find it ridiculous that people say "they dropped Pontiac so I wont buy any of their cars" Diego's comment pretty much says it they way it is. sorry you had to settle for a dodge

I don't even like the look of anything at GM anymore. Except maybe @ 3/4's of the new Vette but would not own one anyway. And their trucks (to me) are about as attractive as a washing machine.

I have zero regrets purchasing my '13 Sierra Z71. I drove the others, hated them for one reason or another. I don't like their redesign. I bought mine for a used truck price since the dealership was unloading the '14's the day I bought it.

I'm not real happy with the demise of the Pontiac marque. My wife's '07 G6 has been an excellent little car. However, it is ridiculous to say "f*ck GM, since they were bailed out, and dropped Pontiac".. Chrysler was initially bailed out by the government in 1979, and later dropped Plymouth. I don't remember people being like this toward their products..

Worked for GM for 40 yrs. I drive a Ford F 350 pickup. I consider it a WORK TRUCK. Still have my 1/2 ton Chevy pickup. Son,brother and myself put over 330,000+ mi. on them and were still running great. I say there great daily drivers and grocery getters. My opinion you can't beat a Grand Cherrokee but they got pricey. Ford diesel 800 ft. lbs. @ 1600 rpm-400 hp. and @ 70 mph doing 1600 rpm KEWL

The 6.0 and 6.4 Navistar diesels did wonders for Ford's reputation, didn't they?

I also own a '72 Chevrolet Cheyenne 3/4 ton with a 402/TH400. That is my work truck. That is the best truck series GM ever had.

Reason not to buy from Chrysler and GM is what they and the government did to the bond holders, steeling the retirement money from the public ( now what do the poor old people do for income, perhaps Chr and Gm should have filed bankruptcy and did their reorganizing the legal way then everyone would be happy. Chrysler was given to Fiat and GM never did repay its debt, just our government and union hand and hand screwing the public for money and power, think about what has been done to us before supporting the establishments that are sticking it to us!!!

OK! then everyone should go start their own bank. dig their own oil well, build their own car, grown their own food, study to be their own doctor. we are getting it stuck to us from everywhere. I am not making this political. just stating the stupid reasons people give to justify why they do what they do.

Im still pissed at Chrysler on how they screwed AMC in order to steal Jeep. By the way the last AMC designed jeep was the Grand Cherkee {sic} of around 1987. talk about a good product, this was the one reason why Chrysler wanted Jeep.

Worked for GM for 32 yrs. They don't make what i need or like. Bought a Honda Ridgeline in Dec. I buy what i need and can use for a daily driver. Blind loyalty to a certain make is not wise and can make you unhappy. Holding a grudge because GM stopped Pontiac to each their own. I'll buy GM again when they make a vehicle i like and need.
