I keep seeing a really cheezy 60's Godzilla behind it. I want to be Captain Incredible and drive one with a cape.

I'm just glad to see that the guy who designed the Aztek has a new gig at Tesla Motors.

So I just had this thought as I watched video of them breaking both of the "unbreakable" windows at the unveiling.... This is a publicity stunt! Show everyone the ugliest truck ever, break the windows out, get everyone talking about it.

Think about it, I've heard more people talking about Tesla in the last two days than ever before. Wait a few days or a week and roll out the real Tesla truck...

Musk's net worth dropped $768,000,000 yesterday.

He claims the starting price for his pickup will be $39,900 when it goes on sale in 2021.

Of course, he claimed that the Model 3 would be a $35,000 car (and took 500,000 deposits of $1,000 each, or $500,000,000) back in the spring of 2016. The Model 3 has been on the market since 2017 and Musk has yet to sell a $35,000 Model 3.

Musk was just ordered to stand trial for calling the British cave expert a "pedo guy". Musk tried to get the suit thrown out because it was just a "throwaway" insult. I don't know about you, but I don't consider calling someone a pedophile repeatedly a "throwaway" insult. The judge didn't either.

Never understood how if the Jawas could build that giant vehicle that they needed to trade in used droids to make a living.

In the "there's a sucker born every minute" category....

Tesla has received 150,000 deposits for this abortion that supposedly will be available in late 2021 (when has Elon Musk ever delivered a product on time?).

If, and I repeat, if, I was in the market for an electric pickup truck, it would be either the electric pickup from Ford or GM that actually will be available in late 2021. Yes, I said that I would buy a Ford F150 electric pickup before I'd buy that Tesla abortion.

Who says the Jawas built it?

200k preorders and rising.

Seems as though specs on power, towing and mile capacity are a big factor.

And it seems that the fact that the bed is small and difficult to access, outward visibility is awful.... and it was designed by a 8 year old are all unimportant to these "truck buyers".

Do those folks that are looking at the power, towing and mile capacity realize that the $39,900 Tesla pickup can only tow 7,500 pounds and have a range of only 250 miles (per Tesla). If they want the robust 14,000 pound capability and the higher range - that will cost tens of thousands more.

With Musk, the devil is always in the details.

I'm guessing on all these claims.

But, a 14k towing with 500 mile between charges 2.9 0-60 electric pickup truck in the 40k price range is appealing to me.

I am not even in that preorder claim amount.

Im with you on this one. Could use a bit of refinement, but I like the overall design. Everyone complains about all the cars today look alike and when someone comes up with something off the chains it gets criticized like crazy!

Minority in the lobby of PY maybe.

But, I think with 200k preorders are what other car companies dream of...

200,000 times $100 = 20 Million dollars.

That truck starts at $69,900.

As I stated above, the $39,900 truck only has a 250 mile range and a 7500 pound towing capacity.

We're probably 5 years away (or more - if ever) from Tesla selling the base truck at $39,900. The Model 3 was supposed to be a $35,000 car (less $7500 tax credit) when shown in the spring of 2016. To date - 3.5 years later, they have yet to build one.

I doubt that a $35,000 Model 3 will ever be sold.

The lowest price Model 3 available right now is $38,990 - and as of Jan 1 will no longer have any tax credit available at all.

So the car that most folks thought would cost them a net of $27,500 back in 2016 - will never happen.
