My basket case '69 firebird is in the final stages of bodywork...FINALLY! It was truely a basket case that was in pieces when I bought it 9 years ago. I had to replace the roof and before I primered it, I fit the OEM set of front and rear glass trim that I had purchased. The new windshields are now in the car because I wanted to shake down the new drivetrain prior to paint...this isn't a stock build. I am seeing a problem with the lower front trim where it meets the A-pillar. If I place the A-pillar corner tab (aftermarket) at the original hole in the body, I have a significant gap between the top corner of the front fender and the trim. I already have 3/8" of shims at the top of the fender (OEM) and the body lines with the doors (reskinned) are good. Do I just slide the trim down and make a new hole in the A-piller? How much does the trim have to overlap with the glass? The upper dash was replaced, so I don't know where the original trim tab holes were located either.
