Default Winch rope ??

Since threads about winches are coming up....
Asked a question in Race section about winch rope but didn't get any responses...
Thinking of going with a synsetic rope to replace the wire cable on my trailer winch.
From what I see a 1/4" rope would be all I need for my 3,100 lb. GP....
My cable got all bound up and kinked/twisted last season..real PITA and cable can bite.
Don't think it's possible to kink a rope ??
Is anyone using this rope? opinions? What size? Pros & Cons??
I see some posts on YB...
Thanks..

I use it on my quad winch and love it. Helluva lot easier to deal with in the mud and muck. Plus if it does snap, it just falls, no snapping back or recoil.

Look on pirate 4x4 forum. I plan to replace the cable on my winch with a rope. I bought a new 12K winch so it might be a while before I need to replace the cable. The thicker cable doesn't seem to bind as easy as the thinner one on my old winch.

TRoy,
We have a monster honk'n rope ar my work, thats looped on both ends, specifically for towing. I know that's not what you're looking for, but you might call around to tractor/farm suply places and ak around. Our rope came from our locally owned, and operated NPAP store, not one of the chain stores, these guys do a great job....make the chain outfits look as stupid as they sometimes are..

I had to replace my Warn winch a few years ago. The new one had a rope. I'm not sure of the diameter, and my trailer is 22 miles from my house so I can't check it easily.
