Arrow Gonna miss her...

So the big day finally came and the transporter arrived around noon to deliver our '68 Grand Prix to Forum member and new friend, Aaron Price (73_ G_Ville), who resides in Alabaster, Alabama. First cross-country trip without the Idens on board, but I'm sure that it will post the best ever recorded gas mileage in this big 'ol car .

They initially loaded it on the bottom because one of the trucks on top was going to be delivered today and then it would go on top where no one could mess with it during the trip. Efficient and careful crew and their late model tractor and 6-8 car trailer was impressive. This is my first experience with shipping a car and I can recommend US AUTO TRANSPORT INC out of Cumming Georgia for your cross country needs based on my limited observation of their care, equipment, and competitive pricing.

Whew! Can't believe you will not have that car anymore. Alabama is just a zip across the south.

Also can not believe that someone would pay to ship an 80s Westfalia.

What a wonderful world!

You think we're crazy over our cars? Those guys are nuts over theirs! Guys keep them forever. Only thing that takes 'em out over in this part of the world is some idiot rear-ending it in traffic.

Sweet!!! Cant wait for her to arrive. Glad you gave the shippers a stamp of approval. I was a little worried after all the delays and excuses coming from the broker.
I promise to give her the best. First off Im gonna insert the original fabric on the seats. In the detroit match up book its on page7 8518 gold. Looks real nice. I will post pics of the job. Nothings better than original cloth. Thanks again Les! It was a pleasure. Couldnt have spent 12.5 any better way.

Bummer, man. That is one sweet GP! I have fond memories of floating down the 605 at 100+ riding shotgun on one of your "qualification runs". So what's gonna take her place in the driveway?

That was a great deal on a well sorted car. If I was more of a big car guy I'd have been all over that. Love a well sorted car.

Arrow I missed her on Friday and Saturday...

when we drove north to Madera CA for a BOP show in the city park. The GP with its rubber suspension bushings, greater mass, and softer springs would have been a better ride than my GTO on the cratered and busted concrete lanes of I-5 & Hwy. 99. The GTO's 3" exhaust drone at 80 (2500 rpm/700R4) when added to the Goat's stiffer suspension made for a noisy, darty, and bumpy ride in-spite of the Dyna-mat and Bilsteins.

Thanks guys for showing the big ol' girl some luv .
