NEW TV SHOW PILOT...
A new automotive performance show called "Won & Done" filmed their pilot at SoCal's Irwindale Raceway 1/8 mile drag strip yesterday. Here's how it works: preselected drag racers run each other heads up (no times, win light only) after big showy half strip burnouts and the winner of each event wins $500 and moves on to compete in the 10 race series with the loser being "done" and barred from the future contests. The last man/woman standing can win the $50,000 grand prize. Rich Christensen of Pinks fame is the new show's announcer.
The filming went on during Irwindale's usual Thursday night T n' T interrupting the staging lanes for the show's contestants. I was there to get some seat time in the GTO and enjoyed the fast cars, most of which were running in the high 5s to low 6s  .
