RA III & IV lower pans have different part #'s as do many of the attaching parts. Hood attaching parts would be the same for RA III & 4. 70 455 RA would be the same as RA III with the exception of the Exh. manifold shield. I'm sure more detailed info will follow.

is 68 the same as 69-70 also? iknow the hood will inter change so i'll assume the upper pan will work. what about the lower? or is the whole unit different due to the 1st year of the body change?

In addition, all 69-70 RA hoods had a cutout in the metal bracing under the hood behind the scoop. That allowed for the mounting of the flapper assm. Many 68 owners have put 69-70 RA systems on their car so they could open and close the scoops. All 69-70 RA III stuff fits right on the 68' as long as you make the cutouts in the hood bracing.

In addition to great reply information,
I was talking to a fellow in the Greensboro, NC POCI club who owns 18 GTOs including a few RA cars.He told me that the OEM 69RAIII lower pan had a square indentation pressed into the pan, over where a Holley carb front float bowl would be located. He said that the 70 RAIII pan did not have this indentation stamped(?) Can any one verify this? This would make the 69 RAIII lower pan different than the 70 RAIII lower pan if this info is correct.
