Default Authenticating a 70 GTO M-40 Transmission

Have a 70 GTO with a TH 400 transmission that has a PY 11259 tag. From what I've read the PY is the standard issue trans and the last numbers are the build date . (Please correct if this is wrong). The vin. # on the opposite side of trans is 70 J 120169.
The 69 are very lightly stamped. The vin tag on the car is 242370Z120169. So the J on the trans , clearly a J , should be a Z indicating a Fremont plant build.
Has anyone come across this type of anomaly before? Thanks

1970 PY eh. Not 1971? Black paint on tag?
If the Tag says 70 Py, then okay. The numbers stamped on the tag might infer an internal build code/sequence. Not sure if in infers a dated code.

Tag still on the Case?
Not PX, PD, PQ?
Stencil still visible on the RH side of Bell HSG?
121 or 895 Front Pump Code?
Internals can reveal a few tings about the level of 1970 vintage being intact.

The stencil is gone from the tag is stamped at the bottom: 70. PY 11259. Trans is currently in the car and operates good , so not sure of a pump code here.
