3 wire alt conversion
According to the diagram term 2 ties into the battery splice at the regulator if I jump these they stay hot all the time everyone I look at is the same is term 2 on the alt hot all the time ?Everything is working correctly just wonder why they leave this hot ?

What xactly are you converting from/to?
On a 3 wire, 10SI (internal regulator), terminal 2 is the sense terminal, normally it gets connected at the battery to sense battery charge voltage. Some folks connect it to the output stud at the alt, it will still work, but the reg will try to control the alt output voltage, the battery voltage will be lower due to loss in the cabling, etc. In any case, term 2 will be hot all the time, it draws very little current, kind of like the memory function in a modern car radio.
