I have a set of #51 heads on a 74 455. I cant find any info on these heads.What year/motor/car did these heads come on?

5I's replaced the '73 & '74 4X-1H heads on 455's for '75 model Pontiacs. The 5I's were a large chamber head. Estimates will range from 124cc-128cc chambers. Compression ratio with these heads is low...advertised C/R was 7.6-1, but actually compression ratio was probably less.

A basically long held experience is that all '75 model 455's originally had the 5I's. If anyone has a bone stock original '75 455 that came with heads other than 5I's please contact Rocky Rotella through this board.

Thanks for the info.Iam in the process of putting together a supercharged pro street 70 GTO.I picked up the car years ago pretty much complete minus motor/trans.Any other info on this project from anybody would be appreciated.
