I remember Ike. We didn't have power for ten days after it hit 1,000 miles INLAND. Ever see a 60ft sugar maple's upper branches touch the ground from the strength of the wind?

No on the S Maple.

Compared to others we were fortunate and thankful. We were wo Power for only 15 days. Lots of tree damage and clean up here.

Our storage lot had a $7 million dollar RV & Boat fire...then Tornadoes that spun off from the Hurricane blew apart complete row sections of buildings that included ours. Our 3 Pontiacs and Car Trailer there...only the '69 GTO had damage to the primer paint, and minor trailer winch damage...from the metal walls going airborne.

Overall came through it in great shape.

Still remember listening to the roof trying to lift from the house during the sustained 100mph wind gusts. Fortunately my Mrs slept through it all while we hunkered down on air mattresses in the center hallway during the night. From time to time I'd look outside and all that could be seen were leaves and horizontal driven rain stuck to the windows. Couldn't really see anything until daylight, after the storm had passed...
