mine'r 17x8 front w/ 255/50's and 17x9 rear with 275/50's.
i wanted to be at 27 and 28" tire heights respectively, and still have as much sidewall as reasonable for 17's for looks.

P.S. Dreambird that sure is a NICE looking car. I'll trade ya? I like '70-'73's best.

SPEEDSHOP, my wheels are 17X9 withe zero offset (5" back space) but I must say that up front because of the Wilwood brakes have a rotor hat that is 1/2" thick so it pushs the wheel out 1/2" giving the equal of a 4.5 back space on stock hubs so far no problems with hiting any suspension components.

I am running 17 x 9 96 ws6 rims front and back. I used 5 3/4 BS front and 5 1/4 BS rear. No problems with clearance and fit inside the wheelwells.

Well, it aint a Trans Am, but here are the 17x9 WS6 wheels with 285/40-17s on my '73 'bird:
Note that I will be lowering the front of this car another 1" to 1.5" and the back about .5" Here is a complete writeup of the installation with more pics: http://garage.willbaker.com/pontiacs...WS6wheels.html

WOW! Some nice rides you all have!
1980TA, that sure is a pretty car! I think those late second gen. cars still look modern especially with modern rims. VERY NICE! Will, that sure is a NICE bird you got too! I love the Formula hood on those '70-'73's. Just mean looking with those intakes hanging out over the front.

Thanks Uneasyrider! However, let's just say that pictures hide a lot of flaws! That hood is trashed and will be sent to the landfill soon. I've acquired all the TA parts for the front end and am going to make a TA clone out of it. I love the Formula hoods too, but that one is just too far gone plus the TA hood allows a lot more options for intakes. I already have a Formula, so a TA, even a clone, will make a good stablemate for it.

Thansk for the compliments. The car took my wife and I six years to put together. I have attached the template for my show board which explains the car a bit more.
