It was an interesting weekend there. Haven't seen that much late model iron outside of a car dealership before. Some statistics;
Total cars entered : 279
total cars sold: 143
total unsold: 136
That's an excellent sale rate, anytime you get over 50% in the auction world you're laughing. Lets go further.
% of cars sold that were 1974 or earlier: 62
Wow, big change! There were many golden oldies but most stuck to their guns and did not lower or remove reserves. With the high bids I saw I clearly sympathize.
I liked that black 70 440 six pack Challenger but I knew from talking to the people unloading the car it was for display only. The reserve was just too high. Sure enough action stalled at $150,000.
It was a good place to pick up a late model Benz or BMW.
