If you look at the counter on the bottom, the 2nd person that looked at it bought it.

'cause the seller is NOT a Pontiac person, simply a flipper . . .

BJ - I've got over 100 pics from when I was considering buying the car when it was in Bastrop. I'll e-mail you some engine bay shots.

Yea, looks like someone got a great buy there. Too bad it has 'been around' and wonder why too. Could something be wrong with it? Why would not someone want to keep a car like that? It is not like they will find another one easiley

Only to be flipped again!

I wonder what the record is for a nice Pontiac being flipped? This one's damned sure in the running for that record . . .

Steve, from what I heard the collector / buyer in Florida, who first bought it from the guys I was negotiating with in Bastrop, either lost or cannibalized quite a few of the most rare pieces from the car.

Plus - the color isn't one of the most desireable . . .

Dunno?

What do you mean "lost or cannibalized"???

Are those parts no longer on the car? What is in their place? What parts?

From my earlier post in this thread:

"Same car, from what I've been told, the car went from Texas to a collector in Miami. A restoration/clean-up was started and then the car was seized in a real estate scam involving the owner.
At that time, the car was missing the ram air stuff...nice car."

I talked to someone that looked at the car when it went to auction in Miami. The RA pans were missing and a few other misc. items as a restoration had been started on the car.

As Lloyd has said, the current seller really didn't know what he had and was just trying to flip it. I did email him a couple of times for info...I didn't think he would sell the car for $20k or I would have bought it.

Well, it really isn't sold until the money changes hands. Who knows, might see it listed again.

Some of the parts were taken off and placed on the rust colored car one owner had at the same time.

Isnt this the "LBJ" car, where they were trying to tie its pedigree (however loosely) to some "assistant" who worked for LBJ? LIke that would cause people to bid like crazy....lol
