TCS switch
Was wondering if all 70's came with the tcs switch or was it an early/late thing?

I have an 08B and it has it. TCS is emissions related, I think emissions is always model year specific.

Yes, the TCS system is emission related, and so is the ported vacuum source for the distributor on earlier carbs.
And as whe know, a ported source for the vacuum advance is helpful with a hotter than standard camshaft, and the TCS may be used the same way. No weak fluctuating vacuum at idle with a hot camshaft disturbing the ignition timing, still full functional vacuum ignition advance while driving. Sometimes the emission devices works for you and your engine! |
