Rich, Shhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You all will have to wait...

NEAT Camaro. We had a few at the local high school, a nice 69 with probably the first set of ghost flames ever, in 1981. Maroon flat hood car. He still has it.

Had a chance at a 68 Z28 in 1980 for $850. RUnning driving inspected car. Didn't want a Chev.

ALL Z's had the bumper guards. Easy way to spot a clone. Most don't realize that fact.

Not yet, I've got one up my sleeve also that's in OE status. About the same as the 65 was.

Default 69 Z/28 update

I know not a Pontiac but thought I would post a few before and after pictures of the Camaro that originally started this post. Finally after 5 years I have the car just about completely restored. Didn't plan on it taking this long but work, family and life in general always seemed to get in the way of getting this car done! Anyways I was just looking thru the pictures when I bought the car and remembered starting this post and thought it would be neat to do a update.
Once I get it 100% finished I will get some better pics of it and maybe post them here.

Beautiful Z! It doesn't get much better than a 69 Z-28 in Lemans blue! 1st gen Camaros (especially 69's) are like owning precious metals, they only seem to go up in value!

It looks awesome!
Since this has come back up....here's another remarkably solid, original '69 Z/28 found in a field..

Friend of mine has one of these that he bought 20 years ago. He complained he was pricey even then.

Great to hear/see that you restored it, and that you kept the flat hood!

Pretty much all the Z's that were in/around my town in the '70s had flat hoods. But you almost never see them that way now.

Likewise around here. Probably 8 or 9 new '69 Z's, none with cowl hoods and most all had vinyl tops.

COPO, Z-10 ( RS/SS), Z-11 ( RS/SS) all had a cowl hood from factory. In 69 you could swap your SS hood on the order sheet for a Cowl hood, so a bunch of Super Sports had cowl hoods. ( non Z-10, or 11 cars) ( yup its true!!)

Car looks great. Love that color and flat hood. My old boss ordered a 69 Z28 new. Flat hood, no spoilers and raced it in SCCA. Did very well with it. Love my Pontiac engines, but a well tuned 302 Chevy is a sweet sounding engine at 6500-7000 RPM,s.

Nice, was that color original? Just curious. A friend bought a new Z28,that had metal 302 emblems on front fenders,I believe when they were first available.White stripes, remember burgundy as body color.

Would be even sweeter with the RS option.
Re: the pace car mentioned earlier. Never understood the hate guys would have for a car to just let it rot away and not sell it to someone who would appreciate it. People are weird.
