That is a very neat picture. I am going to assume that the Yellow Camaro was one of the COPOs to be converted to a Yenko Camaro. Shame on me for walking around all this time thinking that the batch of COPO Camaros that Don Yenko ordered to convert to Yenko Camaros were all pretty much low optioned base models. Didn't think any of those had the endura bumper. That's what I like about you Diego....getting to the truth and debunking incorrect information. Thanks.....learn something new everyday.

Diego.....I think I got this picture off of your web blog from a show you had attended. From what I remember this '71 Chevelle wagon is a factory 4-speed 400 car. Do you happen to know what trim level wagon this one is Concours, Greenbriar or Nomad? Nevertheless, a very unusually equipped wagon!

Here is my #'s matching '69 Chevelle 300 Deluxe SS396 sport coupe.... notice the interior..... and yes it has malibu seat covers which are incorrect but it does have a 134 vin.... a rubber mat.... small sun visors.... the cheapo door panels.... and non hideaway wipers

What a great thread!

Here's the seldom seen 1982 Buick Grand National, only 215 made. There was no 1983 Grand National, then in 1984, Buick reintroduced the GN in basic black only. Many enthusiasts never knew that Buick made a non-black GN in 1982.

There was actually a 1981 Regal Indy Pace Car too, very similar to what Buick would release in 1982. The 1981 Regal Turbo Pace Car became the inspiration for Buick to make a 1982 Grand National.

To a previous post:

No, I don't remember what the wagon was. I may have photo evidence to answer that, but don't have the time to search.

I went to Carlisle this past weekend and saw a few interesting cars including:

- 1969 Chevelle 300 Deluxe, 350/300 and 4-speed
- 1959 Chevy wagon with 348, 3x2, and 4-speed
- 1962 Impala 4-door with 409/409 and column 3-speed(!)

Hurst Engineering built a FWD 1968 4-4-2, taking the 455 drivetrain out of a Toronado.

Prototype 1969 Hurst/Olds. I actually like the rear wing and hood scoops on this version much better than production version.

What,no love for the Ranchero GT's?

Have a '68 S code (390 2v/C6 AT) Ranchero GT in the driveway right now.

Still a little rough around the edges, but it keeps making progress,be it ever so slow.

That's pretty rare being it's a big block Ranchero GT (1669 made ~ all engines),and it was also originally a bucket seat console auto car with A/C,and I know from checking the production numbers online that the buckets/console makes it even rarer yet,at least it did for the '69 Ranchero GT's.

Not 100% sure on the big block + bucket seat breakdown for the Ranchero GT's though.

But yeah,it's kinda unusual IMHO.

Yeah, the 'rents originally bought it for my older brother, and being that I'm the "car guy" in the family,I get to fix all the stuff that's wrong with it,and believe me there was a $#!t ton of stuff that was FUBAR on this one.

And I owned a '72 SS ElCamino with a 402 myself,that was a nice/fun/practical vehicle.

Guess I have a soft spot for the big block ElCamino & Ranchero type vehicles.

I'll dig up some pics for ya'll later tonite maybe.

FWIW

Mike, are those Cragars on that prototype 1969 Hurst/Olds? And possibly with Hurst center caps too? They sure don't look like Hurst wheels, or Cragar center caps.

I'm not sure on the wheels, they look like Cragars to me? As they were fiddlin' around with the 69 design, they came up with this weird rear wing design, and notice this version is still wearing the chrome 5 spokes.

They do look like Cragars, and dressed with Hurst center caps. But I can't blow the photo up enough in size without ruining it to see what they are. The resolution goes kaput.
