Valve question
Will the stock exhaust valves from a 1971 #96 head work in a stock 1967 670 Head ?

No, if stock length, the #96 heads will have valves that will be too short for the #670’s.

The 670 heads need a 5.095” lenght and the other a 4.980”, so like posted above nope.
But the other way around will if you needed greater installed height for stout valve springs. PS, In a real pinch you could since it’s only a .115” different, but you would then have to cut the spring seats by that much which is doable, and run the same amount shorter push rods, so at that point push rods for a pre 67 motor I believe would work.

you CAN tweek stuff all over the place. As a direct "awap" = NO
Any .343 stem valve COULD be used as long as you understand what happens when you move from the OEM length. |
