Don't know anything about the motor. But that looks like it will be one sweet car when it is done.

I did read that you were not worried about the induction system, but getting rid of the original Marvel carburetor to ANYTHING (including a 15 year old standing on the running board and pouring gas into the engine out of a boot) would be a performance upgrade (even if the 15 year old was asleep)

thanks GP it will OWN one day, but right now its still a scrap of steel, hay atleast its steel!!!!!

CARB, hahaha, do you think my 5 year old would work? he's good at metering atleast what he wants, and its always more!

"but dad, you only gave me enough to fill up 1/2 my tummy"
"well son, you dont need a full tummy of gummy worms!

i am gonna be making a intake with 3 2's and a set of headers, but all that wont mean CRAP without a better cam!

i dont want it to just look cool, i want it to ripp, as much as that 65 hp 269 ci will !!!!!

I dig it!
Not sure I'd agree with your wheel/tire choice, but....
What's the "split" deal- two-piece cylinder head?
I wouldn't worry about being able to "buy" a cam- as long as you've got a usable core, any major cam company will grind it however you want. They'll even build up the lobes with weld, if limited by how much the base circle can be reduced.
How many main bearings? Just thinking generally about how much compression and power is within reason.
