Been going to that swap meet for 30+ years... they cancelled it about 5-6 years ago though, glad its back.

Usually pretty big, but hardly any pontiac cars or parts there... my friends & I used to call it the small block chevy swap meet! LOL.

Thumbs up

There are a couple guys who buy and sell at about 10 swap meets a year who worked
with AACA to bring it to Hawkeye Downs Raceaway, they are hoping to have a Fall
event this year and continue in 2026
with Spring and Fall auto swap meets.

Thanks for posting that. I have been a regular for years. Unfortunately it falls on a busy graduation weekend for me, but I hope it does well.

There was a time the swap meet took up the whole grounds. The last time I went it hardly took up the inner circle of the track.

I use to work with gal whos husband was part of the committee for the swap meet. When they left the swap meet started going downhill fast. She said they put a lot of work into it. I guess it showed.

I'm surprised Sun Down is on the flyer. I thought they were gone now.

As with most things that early or late in the year here, the weather plays a big role in how many people show up, I remember years when it was in the 40s windy and cloudy with chances of rain, then other years same dates it was sunny & 60-70, spring & fall are a gamble in the midwest.

Sunline is still around, they just moved locations over to a near by lot after Hawkeye Downs was sold recently and the original Sunline junk yard location was cleared out... heard it was going to be a CoPart lot now.
