Default Chassis detailing on 70 Judge RA IV

I am helping a friend restore a chassis for RA IV 4 speed car. We want to do the chassis right the first time. There does not seem to be a location to get details of the correct finishes and inspection markings. I did find a somewhat incomplete listing on the GTOAA site. Can someone direct me to a site which shows/lists the proper finishes?

Anyone? A site with photos of a correctly done chassis would do.

If you are showing for points in GTOAA you need to follow their
standards if you want a good score. Because of variations from one assembly plant
to another and even variations within a given plant depending on who was painting the parts that day, it is impossible to state with certainty how this particular GTO in question was built.
Even if you do the car like it originally was built you may find that it doesn't match GTOAA's
opinion of what is correct. You state that GTOAA's book of standards is incomplete. What
are the missing sections that need to be clarified? There are people on this forum that volunteer judge for the GTOAA nats from time to time so I would recommend you get a hold
of one of them and ask them for clarification. The biggest variation in undercarriages from
the factory are in two areas.....how the floor pan was painted underneath and which areas
of the chassis were natural versus painted chassis black. These two items varied tremendously depending on the plant and who was doing the work at the plant The reason
nobody is answering your question is because there are many differences of opinion about
what is right and they are afraid to express an opinion and then get shot down on the forum. As I said, if you are trying to please GTOAA judges, get with their judges and figure out what their standards are. Of course their standards may vary wildly from how your car was actually built.

Thank you for your response. The GTOAA PDF http://www.gtoaa.org/pdf/concours.pdf seems to be more of a Judging standard instead of a restoration guide. A lot of the items in the finish column say correct for the application or model year or something similar without specifying the correct finish. In the notes column may of the fasteners are listed as needing the correct plating but does not specify what is correct.

We plan to pull the body over labor day weekend. This car has not seen the road since about 1980. We will of course inspect the chassis for evidence of finishes and inspection marks before tearing it down and sending components out to be sand blasted.

Thank you, I just read through the whole thread. Quite a sad ending.

This seems like a good reference for a starting point. There were some questions raised about the quantity of over spray and the natural rear end. These are point raised by the post below from gtohurstjudge. We will look at these areas carefully when we disassemble the car.
