I bought 2 of the thicker vinyl dash inserts from PY back in 2013? At the time I used one right away and it fit great and still looks great. Today I finally got around to do the dash on my other ‘68 and to my surprise it’s not even close to fitting well. I can only guess that it shrunk some from storing it in the warm house all these years. Tried leaving it in the sun and using a heat gun but no good.
SO what’s the hot ticket to replace this vinyl? I see Ames doesn’t carry the “thicker” one. Would it be better to buy from a place like Phoenix graphics assuming they make these? I didn’t need a backer with the thick one. I understand the thin ones Ames sells require either a vinyl or metal backer.
