Default '69 GTO convertible on BaT

I didn't expect it to go for this much.

Love the black/white
Probably factory black/4sp was one of the main factors for the price.
Factory black has been the top selling color for years with muscle cars.
Even with the new Challengers, black is the top color in sales.

Sounds like a BJ price for a non-stock car. Glad I have too many at present.

Not a fan of the rattle-can grille treatment.

The front bumper on the car in question has been smacked and the bottom of the peak in the middle
is knocked way way back. About half of the 69 GTO's I see in photos have this problem, but this one is the worst I've ever seen.
The Verdoro green 68 above has a correct front bumper...never been hit.

FWIW...that 64 convertible did not meet the reserve (as bid to $95,000).

Wasn't the original exterior color...thought that was strong money, but what do I know.

Holy smokes! Just went back to all the photos and can't believe I missed that. I didn't see a comment on the page that addressed this either. I did see a comment about the look of the dash and glove box door.
Did you notice the VIN tag? Looks like rust pitting to me.

Didn't notice that on the 69 endura nose either. Think the shiny black paint distracted me.

Yes! Seems like only yesterday that was a $40-45k car.

Yep, everything that happened just yesterday was 40 or 50 years ago....

I'd agree that factory black/parchment quite likely determined the price. Additional options make it a very enjoyable experience, I imagine.

Good eye. Bottom of the peak is pushed back, and the top is twisted forward -- leaving a horrible fit of bumper to hood. Ouch.

Once you see the crooked nose on the 69, it is all you can see, you fixate on it. It would make me whacky to own.

Agreed, whenever I see a 69, I always look to see if it's been "beaked" in front. More often than not, they have been.

This 68 HT fits pretty well
Not a perfect car and no His and Hers Hurst but at 32 k asking seems like more of a bargain to me over that tweaked nosed vert. Even if it is black

.anybody trying to unload one of these cars/

Possible trades: (Audi Q7 2017 newer w/low miles), (Subaru Outback 2019 or newer- low miles), (Jeep unlimited- rubicon low miles)

looks like the 68 owner wants to trade his Goat
says the car has 28k miles, if so a very low mile GTO

That '68 on CL looks like a steal to me. That's unless there could be any issues we can't see. But from what can be seen, it looks beautiful.

I also cannot understand why the GTOs generally go for less than SS Chevelles. I was a young teenager when these cars were made and myself, brothers and friends were more in awe of the GTOs than the Chevelles.

Even though the nose on the bumper looks good on this one, it is not what my eye first went to:
