Default Has anyone used Auto city glass?

thinking about buying new glass for my 70 GTO from Auto city with proper date coding, I need clear glass. Has anyone had issues with this reproduced glass? I see some has the spots in it when looking at the right angle and light. Any other recommendations? thanks

I was going to go with Auto City, but they can only date code LOF glass, not PPG. Since I couldn't get the right glass for my car, I just went with a local guy. The price overall was very competitive from Auto City, but the shipping is not cheap. I would have absolutely pulled the trigger if they could have done PPG.

I have one of their windshields in my Bonneville and have been happy with it, I haven't heard from anyone about problems with fitment or sealing. I didn't opt for date coding so I can't comment on that, it's probably best to call them to discuss. They're local to me so of course there was no shipping issues.

Last year I tried to use a 70 rear window from Auto City and it was manufactured nearly 3/8" wider than the original that I removed, plus the curvature was way off on one side. It was hitting the molding clips on both sides when dropped in. No way it would fit in the car I was building, so I bought one locally. They get boat loads of glass from Asia, not U.S. made. Lucky for all of the other 70 customers, as I was "the only one" with that problem. Evidently I had the glass long enough that it started growing. They also sold me vent glass for a 55 Chevy that was too short, again, my problem.

Numerous prior glass purchases from them were uneventful, but these last two experiences make them my last resort.
YMMV.

Have bought tinted door glass from Auto City, was fine. Will have my travel glass rack in the back of the truck this Fall when we visit MN, need 3 date coded windshields & rather order & pick them up.

I'm another that does not like what I see with the rainbow type spots refracting from sunlight in the reproduction tinted back windiw glass. Been seeing that for over a decade & it looks BAD. Not sure if that's just a repro tinted back glass deal, or similar deal with clear back glass as well.
