Saturday Morning
Here is a one off:
The late Bill Mitchell, Head GM Design, his Mangusta which was built by Detomaso with a 327, 350HP Chevrolet engine. Bill sent the 327 to Detomaso for the installation. Oh, in case you did not know...this is the "Black Bird". I bring it out too.

Saturday Mornings
Here are a few cars built by Ex- GM Designer Steve Pastiener. Steve built the Buick Blackhawk that Barrett Jackson sold from the Buick collection a few years ago for several hundred thousand dollars.
A customer wanted to buy that Buick but GM would not sell it to him. That car was a four seater. He tracked Steve down and had him build a simular car. This time Steve began with a 1939 La Salle Business coupe, a Mercedes 320 SLK, a Dana 44 independent rear end and corvette suspension. The frame is all hand build is most of car. All items from the La Salle and 320 had been modified to fit. Steve is the guy who had built 200 of the C5 Commerative that looks like a 1953 Vette. He is still doing C5 Nomads and a car he calls the Heldo. A Northstar power mid engine wedge. He is now building a 1930's Duecey clone for a customer. Along the way he has done several C1 Corvettes for companies like Borla. I may have pictures of a few of those customer cars too.

1954 Borla Exhaust SEMA Corvette
Here is a Staurday morning that Steve Pasteiner brought the newly finished C1 Corvette for the Borla Exhaust Company SEMA display...
You just never know what shows up Saturday mornigns. From a Brass Era car to Rat Rod, to pre production cars. For some reason I can't down load the picture I took a few weeks ago when we had a Fysker and 2013 Corvette 427 show with a brass era Whipitt

Saturday Morning
For our Mopar friends. This is a car bilt by a friend of mine, Gordon Heidecker.
I'll try and find the Trans Am he also builds aount my pictures. Gordon's late father was a Cheif Engineer for PMD and worked on the 1969 Trans Am program. Gordon built a "tribute" to one of the engineering 1969 Firebirds. A 1969 Carousel Red Trans Am convertible. He uses it in the back ground of his promotional photos of the "new" 1969 Trans Am he builds off the current Camaro.

I found Gordon's T/A based on the new Camaro. Some where I also have Ken Lingenfelter bringing a couple of his Trans Am creations off the new Camaro that he has brought on a Saturday morning.

Those are some very nice cars.
One of my friends, Ken Lingenfelter will open his over 200 car collection for the public. Rather then me try to post my pictures of his cars from the three different rooms I just cut and past the links to videos from youtube from over the last few years. Ken has sold some of the cars and added new ones since. The three rooms are divided up, first the exotics, next all Corvettes then muscle cars. Ken helped Reeves Calloway out during his divorce and purchased a couple speedsters and V12's. I beleive it was in the Corvette Forum that some one caught me standing behind Ken's dark blue Vector. Yes, there are two Vector's in the Detroit are. Although the white one was apart of the original run. I should be somewhere in the 2010 video also. It starts out with two of my friends just past the Bricklin, Bill Klausing, big guy with wine color jacket back to you, and Lorin Buzinski in black jacket looking at Bill. I know I had to have been there too. Enjoy. 2010 - 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yapftz-L_6w 2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_orKf63uz8 3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnG90VjExWI 4) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rZQY13NbRU 5) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8geLtWlImxk

The bad part about the coupes is that while the top is removable, making it a Targa top, there is no where to store the top. You had to BUY the optional folding soft canopy. Or duct tape some plastic over you if you got caught in the rain...LOL

Well I'm sad to say that my car is not ready The engine is on the break-in stand right now and I hope to start it up this weekend. Then I would still have to get it into the car, hook up the exhaust and finish the interior. There just won't be enough time. I was really hoping to make the Cruise this year and believe me I'm dissapointed. I guess it will have to be next year. |

Put the engine in it, hook up the exhaust and forget the interior...except for the driver's seat....and drive!

I wish it was that easy Greg, but the car is a total restoration and hasn't been driven yet. I would still need to get a wheel alignment, break in the new rear, new clutch, brakes etc. The car needs to be road tested locally for at least a few hundred miles before I can go anywhere. I really thought the car was going to be ready by the spring but thats how it goes. |
