Looks like there are 4 Pontiac powered Stockers & 2 Super Stockers, at this race.

The Stockers are driven by Adam Strang, Dave Ribeiro, Duane Hoven, & Lauren Kanuit. Dave is listed as driving a '77 Bird. I assume it is the one he raced for years. ? So, maybe the car listed as a '77 Pontiac is the Lemans that Dave has raced for a while now. Maybe Dave will see this & fill us in with the correct info.

The SS Pontiacs are driven by Bill Kennedy & Peter Biondo.

I missed a Pontiac Stocker earlier. It's listed as a '74 Pontiac, driven by Gary Riley.

I figured out the Dave Ribeiro deal. It appears that the qualifying list has the wrong info about what Dave is driving. On the Class Racer forum, there are pics posted from Friday's action. Dave is definitely in his '77 Lemans, NOT a Firebird.

Lauren Kanuik is driving a '77 Grand Prix. This is the first time I've heard of the name or seen the car.

With a '77 400 engine, any body besides a Bird is a much more competitive combo. The NHRA hp factor, in a Bird is 283. In any other body, it's only 260. Big difference. I assume the hp factor was jacked up because one or more '77 Birds were running real quick with this engine. So, NHRA made the combo non-competitive, by adding so much hp. But, there are a few guys still running '77 Bird Stockers. They just have to run a higher class than the other '77 bodies.

Michael also survived E-3, by 3 inches. That's close, ya'll.

Norman Warling posted that Gary Riley races a '74 Lemans Wagon.

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...&postcount=222

I've seen several Pontiac racing wagons thru the years. But, I don't no of another in competition today.

Here's one of the pics that shows up for Gary's wagon, on the autoimagery.com site. According to the pics I can Google, the grills don't look like '74's. But, I think NHRA cuts a little slack on very similar body styles from consecutive years. OR, there may have been different grills for different '74 Lemans wagon models. I'm not familiar enuff with 'em to know.

Michael Brand cut a good light, but went just a hair too quick, in round 4.

Robert Cruzen made it to the finals of SS, but left too quick & had to settle for RU, with his little 428 Pontiac powered Cobalt.

Gary Riley made it to round 3, in Stock.
