Default sniper 4500, will this combo even come close to using this

by now the sniper stealth been out long enough to see what peoples made work with it.

i had a victor dominator intake and hyperspark dizzy already so i jumped at the oppurtunity to buy up a complete sniper stealth 4500 kit with ignition parts included, missing only the fuel pump. hp rating is 800hp-1500hp.

the budget build 433: only missing few small parts now.

edelbrock victor dominator
290b6 cam
edelbrock dports 72cc not ported
2" husler headers
455/428 crank
eagle hbeams
icon 100cc dish pistons

i dont expect no where near 800hp but hoping i can use this on this build just because i do have it, in fact i was gonna cross my fingers and try a 66 tri power, and the swap between the victor intake and a carb.

worse case ill just shelf the efi until a later date

In a word, NO!

With those E heads out of the box no less in ported form they are already pushing the limit of what just that Tripower intake itself can flow..

If I assume that you have the 1966 set up with the three big carbs then it I recall right that totals up to 770 cfm at the 2BBl test depression of 3”hg,.

4 BBl carbs are tested at 1.5hg.

Hg is Mercury, not H2O like flow benches test at which these days it seems that 28” is the standard.

1.5”hg converts to 20.5” of water.

To further answer your question here is some info from a dyno test of a 400 built for racing.

It used iron heads ported to 260 cfm which is close to the out of the box E heads.

It used a 750 Holley on a performer RPM intake, and made a corrected peak of 473 hp.

On a dyno sheet there is a column headed scfm.

This is the actual amount of air corrected for density and temp that the motor used.

On the test of this motor the scfm peak at 6500 rpm and was 656 CFM.

I think that with your combo your talking about that if you supply more then 800 to 850 cfm that your will be reducing the average power that the motor could make from idle all the way to your shift point and beyond due to reduced intake port energy.

my original plan was to put a 4150 flange demon 750 or 850 with an adapter to the dominator flange, run the 66 tripower for hood clearence....on occassion swap on the victor intake.. sounds like i might be saving the 4500 sniper for a later day.
