Good to know. Tell us more about your setup. Automatic or stick? etc...

Thanks

Cool, glad to hear it. Does the oil filter look like it will clear the headers when you change it? How hard was the rear bolt to get at on the middle exhaust port?

Another happy customer...Doug's Headers fit!

I worked closely with Doug when he was prototyping the D-port and Round-port "A" and "F" body headers. He designed the headers to fit both stick and auto applications. One of his primary concerns has always been the bolts...all the bolts. It seems that a great many Pontiyakers have never been able to get all the bolts in...particulary the center bolts. Well with Doug's Headers that is not a problem.

Ken at Pacific Performance has the best pricing.

I had a great strip/street header and made the switch to Doug's Headers. Picked up .2 in ET and just over 2 MPH.

You guys are correct, after you make the decision to change to Doug's Headers call Ken "ACE" Brewer at Pacific Performance Racing because he has the best price and has them in stock. Worked for me!!!!!

Ron

I was wondering between the Ram air manifolds and Dougs headers.
I have a couple of questions.
1. Does the headers provide much more power ?
2. The ram air manifolds; do they add any additional heat to the engine.
3. What did the headers cost you ?
4. What about the sound of the exhaust ?

I am just getting ready to redo my exhaust system and I am a little confused.
I want more power, Less noise, No worries.
I see the Ram Air manifolds all the time on E bay and they usually don't last long.
Your opinions are helpful. I am trying to get to 500Hp +.

Oops, I have one more question.
Do the ram air manifolds only fit ram air heads ?

The Ram Air manifolds will fit standard heads just fine. Many of the D-port Ram Air heads are identical (some even share the same casting #s) to the plain-jane big-valve D-port heads.

Of course you must match round-port and D-port heads with the corresponding manifolds, Ram Air heads came in both round and D-port versions.

For 500+ HP I would forget about using RA manifolds. You are giving up an easy 30 to 40 HP if you use those instead of headers. Buy a set of Doug's from Ken at PPR, you won't regret it.

Unfortunately, last time I checked with them 1 7/8" was the biggest tube header available. Unless you wanted a 'custom' set.
