Default LS Guys.......

Saw this in OC yesterday, guy did a really nice LS swap that would fool a lot of people. Not my thing obviously, but it was VERY well done.

Well presented, not a fan of the creature head on the air cleaner but the engine looks right at home.

Here is a 1973 VW Squareback that belongs to my friend. It’s equipped with a ‘99 LS1 and 4L60E from a Corvette and has a tube chassis with a Mustang II front suspension and a 3.70 geared Ford 9” with ladder bars. The air conditioning works pretty well and it gets around 21 mpg.

The car weighs in right around 2500 pounds and with traction it should run mid-11s, the engine is stock.

I'm gonna have to see if I can track this car down, tomorrow or Saturday. My 400 is on it's last legs (almost no oil pressure), and I'm looking at all options.

OCMDGTO: did you note if that was carb or throttle body injection?

Well this should give you LS guys something to shoot for. A Pontiac I feel has to have Ram Air. This hits the mark....

Does anyone know if the serpentine setups in posts 1 and 9 are stock or aftermarket?

To be able to use a stock air cleaner would be beneficial; ie Shaker hoods, Ram AIr, Cowl Induction etc. for LS/LT swaps.

I wonder if they ran a speed density tune as there is no prosion for a MAF sensor?

Do they make an adapter for the Pontiac covers, or are people just drilling and tapping sbc swap brackets?

Here’s where I am at this point - after re-routing AC and Coolant lines up and under passenger fender and IC pump / front light harness up and under driver’s fender. Looking for clean coil covers now…

Holley makes Pontiac style coil covers. Not sure why they don't list polished version anymore. Only show natural.

I really want those polished ones for my car. Likely gonna require some ‘massaging’ to clear my alternator - or a different accessory drive to relocate the alternator. But those just look so clean and so nice!

I have ICT brackets on my engine. The alternator charging stud is very close to the factory valve covers. I cut it down a little. Might be a problem with the Holley coil covers.

Nice. And still multiport injection I believe.
