Default Oil return

On a remote filter set up on IA 2 block which line is the return from the block to filter?? Top or bottom.

Oil goes from the oil pump through the bottom passage in the block to the oil filter adapter.

Oil comes out of the upper hole of the oil filter adapter and returns to the block upper oil passage and goes to the oil galleries. Lower hole is OUT Upper hole is IN

You mean I hope from the filter to the block for the return question.

Thanks Tom You are correct from filter to block. Some day I will mark them. Every year i have the same question. Old age I guess.

Upper hole is always the return. Good way to remember is the oil pump is "down low" so the oil coming out of the pump must be coming out of the hole on the bottom.
