Default Priming Torque Converter??

I am getting ready to fire up my motor in my 71 Goat this week (motor has already been to the dyno) I have the motor and tranny installed however I forgot to prime the torque converter prior to bolting it to the motor and installing in the car. (200r4 w/continental conveter).

If I just fill the tranny through the dipstick tube and fire up the engine will I damage the transmission?

Thanks for all your help, getting ready for the Power Tour!!

The torque converter doesn't need to be filled prior to start-up.

Fill the transmission with about 5-6 quarts of fluid, then start adding fluid after start-up until the transmission shows about a pint low. The converter will hold quite a bit of fluid, and fill quickly once the engine fires up.....Cliff

Thanks Cliff for the tip.

FYI - You rebuilt a Q-Jet for me a few months back, took it to the dyno......Other than setting the idle speed the mixture was absoutly perfect with a 1/2" 4-hole spacer. Also picked up about 10hp / 15lbs tq with the spacer as well, bonus!

Are you doing any of the Hot Rod Power Tour? One of the legs goes right through Dayton, Ohio?

Let me know if you are going to be in Dayton for the Power Tour I would like to meet you in person.
