Default coil location and mounting non-vertical?

looking to move my coil from back of passenger side head to throttle cable bracket. like to just bolt it using the intake to head bolt.

is this an issue mounting at that angle? or should i drill a hole in the bracket and mount it vertical?

(moving because i am routing my spark plug wires around the back side of head where coil was mounted.)

thks

I have had my coil mounted in the same place for over 14 years with no problems. This is how it is now, using the same bolt you are planning on using if I am reading correctly:

That is the stock location for most all Pontiac coils anyway.

think coils were mounted on back of head up to ~'68. then sounds like they moved around a bit (throttle cable bracket and passenger rear intake bolt).
I like both of the later options... keeps it "pontiac" looking and solves my problem.

thks for input.

The coil was / is in the same position as the pic on my 73 GTO & that is the spot that most all of the Pontiacs put the coil as it keeps the air flow around the coil to help keep it cool .

Default this is what i ended up with...

started on the drivers side but not enough room on that side for some reason. realize there are many pontiacs mounted there, but my combo wasn't going to work.
went to passengers side and there was more room to angle it and tuck it between the intake and distributor. took a little modification to the bracket. happy with over all look.

For my own car I put th coil on the firewall just to the riht of the heater box with a mount that is chome & has 2 mountin ears with slot in them where you can put screws & then move it a bit side to side a bit. The coil wire is shorter thn the stock one & the coil looks as it belongs there that way. I thought I had a pic of it , but couldn't find it. If you want one of where my coil I'll take a pic to show you what it looks like.
