Need a torque conv guru ???
Just wondering what converter to get. 1964 GP with 389 4 barrel ..303 hp...installing a 200R4 tranny...assuming 3:23 peg leg...may change to 3:42 posi if not too steep a gear. Not drag racing ( a few passes) but want a nice snappy shifting ,get up and go street car, that chirps the tires shifting into 2nd gear. What converter would you run...Thanks for any input

First you should decide if you want lock up or non lock up converter.I vote for non lock up with around 2000 stall and go with that 3.42 posi.Should have all the performance and smooth street manners.I have this set up in my car along with a tranny cooler and it works fine.

on the fence
When I was trying to decide which way to go, a comment I remember was ..... no one is going to look at the car and say " Wow, great looking car and look, it's an automatic "

4 speed auto is the way to go.When I got my 64 GP in 1993 I wanted to see what it would take to convert to 4 speed. After I found out to do it the right way was a huge expense and still no overdrive. With the overdrive auto it became a great driving car.And it looks stock!
