FWI,Nunzi has a factory block with 4.250 bore and NO provision on the side of the block for any kind of oiling.I saw a 366 factory NASCAR block with 4.00 bore when stock was 4.155.My 303 std deck block is just a 70 RA III block with no vin or EUN numbers, just Engineering 303 numbers. They had a great play ground back in those days.Tom

Is this the block that Arnie had with the 2x4 RAV tunnel ram burned up in a barn fire ? 428 RAV 2x4 intended for the Banshee at one point ?

My guess is banjo fittings went there to either provide oil or take it elsewhere. Rod

Another question Tom, Does your friends block have splayed main caps?
I saw a block at Butler's many many years ago that was one of Arnie's Special Blocks that had splayed caps and looked similar with the reinforced lifter webbing, (first time for that for me too). I thought that was a great idea and mentioned it to Marty P and that is one of the main reasons why we did splayed caps on his 1967 block. Splayed Cap Block Tom???? Tom V.

This is one of the coolest threads, and block, I've seen in a long time. Who knew? Too bad Pontiac didn't make them widely available to the general public.

It’s not a quick easy thing to make casting mold changes back then, so one would think that they cast up a minimum of 5 blocks with the with the additional bosses in the lifter bores no?

I would think so if Arni was only getting 25 or so runs on them before they split.Tom

(probably didn't need a lifter valley pan either) Probably no splitting that block.

I think them staying with 3 1/4 mains was the real draw back!Engineering had 3in main 4in stroke and 4.21 cranks made.I have owned both of them.Tom
